Haverhill’s planned fireworks display in honor of Independence Day is being delayed until Wednesday night in expectation of inclement weather.
The annual fireworks show is now planned around 9 p.m. at Riverside Park, near Haverhill Stadium, off Lincoln Avenue.
Haverhill Recreation Director Benjamin Delaware previously told WHAV he expects fireworks at 9:15 p.m., but suggests spectators arrive before 9 p.m. while it is still light. Several food trucks will be on hand beginning at 5:30 p.m. There will also be face painting and a photo booth. There will be recorded music beginning at 6 p.m. followed by the Mystic River Band, who will bring its blend of 60-90s rock.
WHAV Wave Weather Meteorologist James Covington says Tuesday is expected to be mostly cloudy, breezy with showers and scattered thunder storms with highs around 87. It will be less humid on Wednesday.
