The grandfather of a five-year-old with Haverhill ties who disappeared in 2019 is mounting a search to locate her remains.

Harmony Montgomery was formally declared dead in March of 2024. Her remains were never found. Her father, Adam Montgomery, was found guilty of killing the child and disposing of her body in February 2024. He was subsequently sentenced to 45 years to life in state prison.

Montgomery is the daughter of Crystal Sorey, who grew up in Haverhill. Crystal’s father, Timothy Flanagan, told WHAV he operated Twin Taxi in Haverhill in the 90s. Born and raised in Haverhill, he lived briefly in Florida but then retired to his hometown.

Flanagan is organizing the search of the Romney Marsh Reservation in Saugus on Saturday and Sunday, June 28 and 29, because he learned that Adam Montgomery had ties to the area.

“I am hoping some of my Haverhill friends will join me,” Flanagan told WHAV. “This is what I owe my granddaughter.”

As reported by WHAV Adam Montgomery was awarded custody of the child in February 2019. Sorey became concerned about the child’s whereabouts when Montgomery failed to bring her for a visit at Thanksgiving. Investigators in NH believed the child was killed sometime between November 28 and December 29, 2019.
