Printing Museum Offers Colonial-Era Printing Demo

Andy Volpe is coming to Haverhill’s Museum of Printing to demonstrate how Paul Revere printed paper money to pay for the American Revolution.

The event, free with museum admission, is offered Saturday, June 7, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., at the museum, 15 Thornton Ave., Haverhill. In addition to promissory notes, Volpe will print his poster commemorating the 250th of the start of the American Revolution which is based on a replica of the copper plate Revere used. Volpe will also discuss the tools and techniques a printer in the colonial era would have used.

This event is supported in part by the Massachusetts Office of Travel and Tourism. The printing museum is located General admission is $15 with a $5 discount for seniors. Children and veterans are free as are holders of a Haverhill Public Library card.
