Haverhill’s Cameron “Cam” Davidowicz is returning to the New England Free Jacks professional rugby team.
The team said last week 29-year-old Davidowicz is coming back ahead of the regular season’s final stretch and playoff push. He played this spring with Mystic River.
“The Davidowicz family are synonymous with the Free Jacks, and it will give us a huge lift to have Cam back in our team environment. Cam is the ultimate New England competitor; he brings a physical and mental edge that will challenge us to be better at the most important time of the season,” said General Manager Tom Kindley in a release.
Davidowicz, son of Michael Davidowicz and Deborah DiBurro of Haverhill, first signed with the Free Jacks in 2021.
Davidowicz’s return comes just before the trade and signing deadline. The team said, “His familiarity with the Free Jacks’ culture, combined with his hardy style of play, will strengthen an already formidable back row as the team gears up for the crucial end-of-season games.
