History of the Printing Press Topic of Museum of Printing Lecture Saturday

The History of the Printing Press is the topic of a lecture this Saturday afternoon at Haverhill’s Museum of Printing.

Museum President Frank Romano describes the invention of the printing press and how it evolved during the talk Saturday, April 12, at 1 p.m., at the museum, 15 Thornton Ave., Haverhill.

Attendees will receive a free copy of Hoe’s “History of the Printing Press” booklet. The lecture is free with regular admission.

General admission is $15; seniors, $10; and military and students, free. There is no charge for museum members; and admission is also free for Haverhill Library card holders thanks to a donation.

There will also be a Book Arts Open Studio Saturday, April 12, with drop-ins welcome between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. The studio includes access to a variety of reference books and tools, including paper cutter, board sheer and book press. There is a $10 studio fee.
