Alison J. Gulubicki was recently named executive director of the Greater Haverhill Foundation, the venerable economic development nonprofit responsible for the Ward Hill Business Park and downtown Haverhill’s Harbor Place.

Gulubicki, of Haverhill, is a familiar face in the community, having previously served as the vice president of the Greater Haverhill Chamber of Commerce, legislative aide for then-state Sen. Steven A. Baddour and as program manager in Methuen’s Economic and Community Development Department.

“Alison’s background provides a nice mix of skills in both public and private sector experience which will be instrumental to the Foundation, its mission and understanding the future needs of the organization,” said David Splaine, retiring executive director. “The committee was very impressed with her background, local ties, enthusiasm and thorough understanding of the importance of collaboration.”

Gulubicki most recently worked with a construction management firm in downtown Boston serving various roles from project manager, operations manager and then director of finance and operations. She has a Master of Public Administration degree from Norwich University where she specialized in urban and economic development and is currently studying for her Massachusetts Realtors license.

“I am thrilled to join the Foundation and feel fortunate to be able to serve as the next executive director. Over the last month, I have enjoyed getting up to speed on the many projects that the Foundation is currently collaborating on.  I am truly grateful for this opportunity and look forward to doing meaningful work right here in my hometown. I look forward to continuing to foster economic and job growth with strong partners in both the City and State.  Haverhill has a lot of opportunity, and I hope to help tell our story.”

She is involved in many sport programs throughout Haverhill, sharing her love of sports with her two sons Cole and Adam. She is the vice president of the Haverhill Travel Basketball board of directors and currently coaches sixth grade boys. She also volunteers and coaches fourth and sixth grade boys basketball for her children’s school in Bradford. Additionally, Gulubicki is vice president of the Bradford Swim Club board of directors.

Splaine officially retires later this month after more than four years of service. They have worked together to ensure a smooth transition for the 60-year-old organization.
