The Haverhill Public Library is offering a virtual visit Wednesday with author Jerry Brotton, who discusses his book, “Four Points of the Compass: The Unexpected History of Direction.” The book examines how the concepts of north, south, east and west have shaped human history, culture and geography.

Brotton explores the historical and cultural significance of these cardinal directions, offering a different perspective on how each navigates the world.

The talk takes place on Wednesday, Nov. 13, from 2-3 p.m., via Zoom.  Registration is required through the Haverhill Public Library’s website at haverhillpl.org.
