Whittier Regional Vocational Technical High School and Magellan Aerospace are among employers seeking to fill jobs when MakeIT Haverhill’s next job fair takes place.
Whittier Tech’s Transportation Department seeks bus drivers with commercial driver’s licenses, while Magellan is looking for a second shift quality inspector with coordinate measuring machine experience.
The job fair is Thursday, Sept. 19th, from 4-6 p.m., at MakeIT Haverhill, 301 Washington St., Haverhill.
Other employers include Opportunity Works, Northshore YMCA, Lirx Logistics and L’Arche Boston North. The monthly job fairs allow employers to engage with potential job seekers and network with potential partners. Bilingual assistance is available for Spanish and Haitian Creole speakers.
Other services provided are free job training programs for adults learning English, including resume and cover letter preparation and job placement assistance; Haverhill Public Library library card registration and children’s books; afterschool registration for Urban Bridges; free blood pressure testing and Narcan giveaways by the Haverhill, Health Department; and training programs, career exploration, job search and resume building services from MassHire, which also now holds office hours Tuesdays and Fridays, from 9 a.m.-noon and 1-4 p.m., at MakeIT Haverhill.
