“Major League Memories,” shared by Boston Red Sox hall of famer Rico Petrocelli, comes to Haverhill Crossings next week as part of a partnership between the Red Sox and the Alzheimer’s Association.

Petrocelli will be on hand for an hour-long program Thursday, Sept. 12, at 11 a.m., at Haverhill Crossings, 254 Amesbury Road, Haverhill.

“With reminiscence programs having been proven time and time again to be effective for seniors and people with memory impairment, the aim is to help all seniors connect through their shared experiences in American’s pastime,” according to a statement.

Petrocelli played for the Sox for 12 years and wrote a book about the Sox’s infamous 1967 season, “Rico Petrocelli’s Tales from the Impossible Dream Red Sox.” He was selected to the All-Star game. He was the starting shortstop for the American League team and went hitless in his one at bat.
