The inaugural Haverhill “Woofstock,” a community event celebrating a love for dogs and local farms alike, promises to bring a day of joy, companionship and community spirit next month.

Haverhill’s Woofstock, inspired by Cyndie Morgan’s beloved dog Nigel, originally named Bark in the Park, is a day of festivities Saturday, Sept. 14, from 10 a.m.-3 p.m., at Chris’s Farm Stand, 436 Salem St, Haverhill. There will be a range of activities including dog adoptions, live music, local food vendors and a variety of dog activities. An educational component features therapy dogs. Attendees may also take part in apple picking, exploring the 200-year-old farm and shop for fresh fruits, vegetables, honey, eggs and more.

“I am incredibly excited to bring Woofstock to our community. This event not only celebrates our love for dogs but also supports our local farms and nonprofits,” said Morgan. “It’s a day filled with joy, and we’re thrilled to have the community come together to make it a success.”

The farm is located on 139 acres with a 55-acre island on the Merrimac River.

Nonprofit partners include Sweet Paws Rescue, Great Dog Rescue New England, Operation Delta Dog and Haverhill Promise, which will be donating books to attendees. Local artists, such as Dale Roger’s Studio, will showcase their works. Sponsors including Pentucket Bank, Essex County Sheriff’s Office and the City of Haverhill Police Animal Control. Other sponsorships remain available
