CNA Stores has named Haverhill-based Veterans Northeast Outreach Center as its August Charity of the Month.

Veterans Northeast Outreach Center, founded in 1985, provides at risk and low-income veterans with basic food and shelter, housing, advocacy, social engagement, community activities, case management and VA benefits and claims assistance.

CNA Stores, a veteran-owned cannabis company, with locations in Haverhill and Amesbury, sponsors charity jars benefitting a different nonprofit each month.

Store patrons are encouraged to donate to a different nonprofit each month through the Charity Jar program.

CNA Stores report that last year, the fundraising jars delivered $137,000 for local charities, and the jars bring in on average between $11,000 and $13,000 per month per charity. The stores then match donations back to staff in the way of bonuses the following year.
