A floral-themed brunch, featuring the artistry of Stephen Janavicus of Flowers by Steve, is planned to benefit the conversion of the former George F. Cogswell School on South Main Street in Haverhill into a community arts center.

“Spring Has Sprung” offers plant sales, live floral arrangement designs, curated raffle baskets and a floral-based art silent auction to support Creative Haverhill’s Cogswell ArtSpace Campaign.

“Once renovated, the Cogswell ArtSpace will blossom into a hub of creativity, featuring gallery space, versatile classrooms catering to all ages, individual artist studio rentals and a collaborative workspace equipped with ceramics labs, a printmaking studio and a woodshop,” organizers say.

Creative Haverhill has raised $2.3 million towards $3 million for acquisition and renovation. The nonprofit completed the building purchase in 2019 from the city.

The fundraiser takes place Sunday, April 7, from 11 a.m.-3 p.m., at Indian Ridge Country Club, 73 Lovejoy Road, Andover. Tickets are $100 per person and available online here. The organization is also seeking sponsors. Those interested may email [email protected].
