Police Find Man in his 40s Dead Behind Plaistow, N.H., Stores; Say No Public Threat

A man in his early 40s, reportedly missing since last Thursday, was found dead Saturday in a wooded area behind Pentucket Shopping Center in Plaistow, N.H.

Plaistow Police said officers were dispatched at 3:38 p.m., Saturday, to the shopping center at 58 Plaistow Road after receiving a medical call about a possibly deceased person from friends who went looking for the man. Police, Plaistow Fire Department and Trinity EMS were at the scene where Trinity paramedics pronounced the man dead.

Police said they confirmed the identity of the man, but are withholding his name pending notification of all family. “The exact cause of death has not been determined until an autopsy and thorough examination by the State Medical Examiner’s office has been completed,” police said in a press release.

“Due to the circumstances surrounding this incident, the police believe that there is no threat to the public. This case is still under active investigation by members of the Plaistow Police Department and the State Medical Examiner’s office,” the statement said.
