“Increasing Lending Opportunities for Latinx Small Businesses” is the aim of a free event Wednesday morning sponsored by the UMass Lowell Innovation Hub in Haverhill, Association of Latino Professionals for America and U.S. Small Business Administration.

In line with this year’s Hispanic Heritage Month theme of prosperity, power and progress, organizers say it “aims to foster connections, provide learning opportunities and create a platform for collaboration within the small Latino business community.”

A panel, “Unlocking Financial Opportunities for Latino Small Businesses,” will be moderated by Small Business Administration’s Lisa Gonzalez Welch and include Jose Abreu, Eastern Bank; Jesus Suriel, Enterprise Bank; Charles Smith, director of the Entrepreneurship Center at Community Teamwork; and Saul Pena, Mill Cities Community Investments.

A discussion called “Working Capital—Success Stories from Local Business Owners,” will be moderated by Isis Ortiz, of Eastern Bank and president of the Association of Latino Professionals for America, includes panelists Wendy Luzon, Casabe Foods; Argenis Marte, Jaqueline’s Auto Service; and Andreina Viera Silva, Arka HR.

The event takes place Wednesday, Oct.11, from 8:30-11:30 a.m., at the iHub Haverhill, 2 Merrimack St., third floor, Haverhill.
