A bill filed by Sen. Pavel M. Payano and others is the focus of a State House rally Wednesday morning.
The legislation, also filed by Sens. Liz Miranda and Reps. Bud L. Williams and Judith A. Garcia, is before the Joint Committee on Health Care Financing. It would create the Executive Office of Equity, expand MassHealth coverage for eligible people regardless of immigration status, reduce costs of certain medications, ensure equal reimbursement for telehealth services and more.
Besides the bill sponsors, others expected to speak at the rally include Michael Curry of the Massachusetts League of Community Health Centers, Manny Lopes of Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts, Bisola Ojikutu of the Boston Public Health Commission and Assaad Sayah of Cambridge Health Alliance.
Payano represents Lawrence, Methuen and parts of Haverhill.
