Ramps from Interstate 495 to I-93 in Andover will temporarily close each night this week to allow workers to excavate and install electrical conduits and hand holes on the right shoulder of the ramps.
The Massachusetts Department of Transportation reports the I-495 northbound exit, 97A, and I-495 southbound exit, 97B, ramps close each night from 8 p.m.- 5 a.m., through Friday, Sept. 16.
Officials describe the closings as happening “one at a time.” Detour routes will be in place.
Drivers are advised to seek alternate routes, reduce speed and use caution while approaching and traveling through the work zone. Message boards, signs, traffic control devices, and police details will be used to guide drivers.
