DSR Motor Group Buys Rockingham Toyota and Honda, Known for Local Philanthropy

In 2014, Emmett Horgan, center, was named a Paul Harris Fellow by the Rotary Club of Haverhill. At left was then-Rotary President Bonnie Michaleas and, at right, Ryan Horgan.

Rockingham Toyota and Honda, operated by Emmett Horgan and his family for almost four decades, was recently sold to Westwood-based DSR Motor Group.

The two Salem, N.H., dealerships became Canobie Lake Toyota and Canobie Lake Honda respectively, under the leadership of David Rosenberg, DSR Motor Group president. Bob Ramos was named general manager and managing partner of Rockingham Toyota.  In a statement on the web, Emmett and Ryan Horgan said they will “miss all the relationships we have built over the years.”

“We have been honored to be a part of the community for over 36 years, so it was a difficult decision for us to retire. As local business owners since 1985, it has been our privilege to experience firsthand the incredible growth in the Greater Salem Area, and to have supported many excellent community non-profit organizations, from the Boys and Girls Club, Chamber of Commerce and Rotary clubs, to Salem High School and the Salem Animal Rescue league, among others.”

Rockingham Toyota was well known for its sponsorships of Haverhill Rotary Club programs, including the club’s former Rubber Duck Regatta where the dealership donated a new car as a prize.
