Drainage and access work related to the $102 million I-495 bridge replacement project in Haverhill means various temporary lane closures northbound and southbound this week.

The Massachusetts Department of Transportation said single right lane closures northbound, between exits 48 and 50, take place daily Monday, Sept. 28, through Thursday, Oct. 1, from 6 a.m.-2 p.m. The lane closures are necessary for bridge approach work as the northbound side nears substantial completion.

Single right lane closures also take place southbound, between exits 50 and 49, daily from Monday, Sept. 28, through Thursday, Oct. 1, from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. This closure is related to drainage work.

There will also be a single left lane closure southbound, between exits 50 and 48, on Friday, Oct. 2, from 9 a.m.-2 p.m., for guardrail installation.
