Common Ground Café and Thrift Shop was named Greater Haverhill Chamber of Commerce’s July Business of the Month for its “unyielding commitment to the Haverhill community.”

Established in 2011 under the leadership of Ron Mills, director of Common Ground Ministries, the organization set out to create an operating model that would support those in need and influence social activism. Since then Common Ground Café and Thrift Shop has been feeding, clothing and caring for elderly, low-income and homeless residents.

Through collaborative partnerships and hundreds of volunteers, Common Ground Café and Thrift shop has grown and recently relocated to 194 Winter St. The renovated building includes a café, commercial kitchen and food pantry. Open 365 days a year, Common Ground not only provides resources but a place to belong and celebrate. Each Christmas the Café celebrates the holiday season with music, food and gifts.  On the last Saturday of each month birthdays are celebrated with cake.
