The Greater Haverhill Chamber has entered into a strategic partnership with the Massachusetts LGBT Chamber of Commerce, whose mission is “to promote economic growth and viability for LGBT-owned and allied businesses, corporations, and professionals throughout the Commonwealth.”

Greater Haverhill Chamber President Dougan Sherwood said the relationship between the two organizations will be reciprocal.

“This partnership couldn’t come at a better time. It fits perfectly into our larger idea that inclusivity is important and drives economic development,” Sherwood said in a statement.

The Massachusetts LGBT Chamber began in 2018 as a nonprofit with members comprised of LGBT-owned businesses and, what a press release describes as “the Commonwealth’s largest, most innovative and profitable corporations with one goal: cultivate inclusive relationships to drive economic impact.”

Massachusetts LBGT Chamber Executive Director Grace Moreno, said the partnership is the organization’s first with a fellow chamber in the Commonwealth. She added, “Our statewide, LGBTQ-focused Chamber looks forward to offering LGBTQ members of the Greater Haverhill Chamber the exclusive opportunities we have created and cultivated for our business community in Massachusetts.”
