In observance of Memorial Day this coming Monday, the Haverhill Veterans of Foreign Wars, Lorraine Post 29, is asking one last time for photographs of deceased veterans for a video tribute.

Post Commander Keith Gopsill and Junior Vice Commander Donald R. Jarvis, appearing Monday on WHAV’s morning program, reminded listeners pictures of deceased veterans should also be accompanied by the person’s name. Jarvis says the video will also include photographs of decorated homes, and he says people can do a variety of things.

“I’ve asked people to put out flags at their house. It’s that’s simple. I know times are tough and they may not be able to go to the store to buy a new flag, so if the kids want to decorate by drawing up, or coloring a sign, we’ve also uploaded coloring pages, they can download and print, and with a crayon color those up, and tape those in the window. I’ve seen some people that taped a picture of their loved ones in the window, and that’s easy enough. We want to come together to honor, and remember our veterans, in whatever capacity we can,” Jarvis said.

Called “Haverhill’s Veterans Honor Roll,” the video tribute will be ready by Memorial Day, Monday, May 25.

The video will be shown by HC Media and also be posted on social media. The deadline for emailing the images to be included in the tribute is Wednesday, and should be sent to [email protected].
