The Haverhill High, St. James and Haverhill Trade School classes of 1966 are collecting donations to support the new Vietnam Veterans Memorial at Mill Brook Park and say a donor will match contributions received.

Classmates say they want to honor their members who served, including Frederick Durocher who died in Vietnam in 1968.

“Many of our classmates are Vietnam veterans…We are asking the Classes of 1966 to properly recognize their service. Thanks to the generosity of a classmate who served in Vietnam, all donations will be matched,” a statement said.

Organizers ask that checks be made payable to Haverhill High School Class of 1966 with Vietnam Memorial Project written on the memo line and sent to Haverhill Class of ‘66, c/o Kathy Bresnahan, 30 Woodland Way, Haverhill, MA 01830. They ask checks be sent on or before April 15 to enable a matching donation to be made at the end of April.

Anyone with questions may call Bresnahan at 978-852-3014.
