Today’s Obituaries—Feb. 12: Perkins, Seavey, Wilkinson

Ernest D. Perkins, 83, of Brentwood, N.H., and formerly of Haverhill, died Sunday morning, Feb. 9, at Exeter Hospital. He was born in Haverhill, Dec. 1, 1936, son of the late Donald and Gladys (Peck) Perkins and was educated in the Haverhill school system. For more than 25 years he was employed at Columbo Yogurt from where he retired in 2000. After retiring from Columbo, he was employed part time for Sunrise Foods, Brentwood. Calling hours are Friday afternoon, Feb. 14, from 2-5 p.m., at H.L. Farmer and Sons Funeral Home, 106 Summer St., Haverhill, followed by a funeral service at 5:15 at the funeral home. Burial is private and at the convenience of the family.

Albert V. Seavey, 91, of Groveland and formerly of Haverhill, died Feb. 7, at Penacook Place. He was the husband of Shirley M. (Demers) Seavey, and they would have celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary Feb. 19. Born in Haverhill Aug. 10, 1928, he was educated in Haverhill and graduated from Haverhill Trade School, class of 1946, where he was president of his class. He served honorably as a member of the U.S. Army during the Korean War with the 559th Ord Int Rep De until his discharge as corporal in 1954. Seavey worked many years as an electrical contractor in Greater Haverhill. Following his retirement, he served as wiring inspector for the Town of Groveland for 15 years. A memorial service takes place Saturday, Feb. 15, at noon, at First Baptist Church, Haverhill. Arrangements under the direction of Dole, Childs and Shaw Funeral Home, 148 Main St., Haverhill.

Theresa Rena Wilkinson, formerly of Rochester N.H., and Haverhill, died Feb. 6 at Edgewood Centre, Portsmouth, N.H., after a period of declining health. She attended Lawrence public schools and was employed in the Lawrence mills. She married William H. Wilkinson, moved to Haverhill and raised their family of six children. She later went on to work for Western Electric/AT&T for many years before retiring in 1988. A graveside service in St. Joseph’s Cemetery takes place in the spring.
