Merrimack Valley Credit Union Awarding $15,000 in Scholarships

Merrimack Valley Credit Union and Bridgewater Credit Union are awarding $15,000 in college scholarships to 15 students within the Merrimack Valley and South Shore regions.

Thirteen high school seniors will be awarded with a $1,000 scholarship towards tuition with two of the scholarships being awarded to credit union members. Applications must be submitted alongside a transcript of their grades, a letter of recommendation and a 500-word essay answering “If I ran the credit union, I would…” by March 1.

“Our annual scholarship program is just one way that we give back to those in our community,” said John Howard, president and CEO of Merrimack Valley Credit Union. “Higher education is important for many young adults as they pursue different career paths. Our scholarships will help 15 bright and driven students from our community advance their education, either close to home or across the country.”

Merrimack Valley Credit Union operates branches in Haverhill, Methuen, North Andover and Plaistow, N.H.

Students can download the application and additional instructions from mvcu.com/scholarship. To be considered, students must send their completed applications and required materials to Marketing Department, Merrimack Valley Credit Union, 500 Merrimack Street, Lawrence, MA 01843, no later than March 1.
