H.P. Lovecraft Returns to Buttonwoods Museum After 99 Years on April 2

On Aug. 26, 1921, famous horror fiction writer H.P. Lovecraft visited Haverhill Historical Society’s Buttonwoods Museum. The visit to the museum was arranged on a day it was not normally open to the public.

Now, 99 years later, Lovecraft is doing it again in a sense. Haverhill native and author David Goudsward is presenting “H.P. Lovecraft in the Merrimack Valley,” Thursday, April 2, 7 p.m., at Buttonwood’s Museum, 240 Water St., Haverhill.

Copies of Goudsward’s book, “H.P. Lovecraft in the Merrimack Valley” will be available for sale and autographs. There is no admission fee.
