The public has opportunities to shape policy this week as various Haverhill boards meet. In the interest of transparency in government, WHAV provides this list of upcoming meetings every week.
The company that bought the former Forest Acres apartment complex last year is before the Haverhill Conservation Commission Thursday night to discuss drainage improvements.
Princeton Properties seeks to make drainage improvements at buildings and parking areas along Forest Acres Drive. The 45-year old apartment complex, now known as “Princeton Bradford,” is working through a three-year capital plan that will see the complex’s 49 buildings—410 units—and various facilities receive interior and exterior upgrades.
Last April, the complex won permission to add a 34-unit building at the apartment complex off South Main Street. Andrew M. Chaban, CEO of Princeton Properties, said the building will contain one- and two-bedroom apartments, adding the intentional lack of three-bedroom apartments reduces pressure on the city’s school system.
Engineer Andrea Lothrop from Boston-based Howard Stein Hudson said there will be 19 one-bedroom and 15 two-bedroom units in the building to be sited on a vacant two-and-a-half-acre parcel within the existing complex.
Conservation Commissioners will also hear any comments from the city’s Planning Department regarding a frontage waiver for Zachary Heights, 316 Gile St. The Commission meets at 7:15 p.m., Thursday, in room 301 of Haverhill City Hall.

Tuesday, Dec. 3
Haverhill Board of Assessors meets for its weekly meeting from 9-10 a.m., in room 115 in City Hall. Agenda includes statutory exemptions, vehicle excise tax warrant and the state Department of Revenue tax certification for the current year.
Merrimack Valley Planning Commission elects officers and receives an update on candidates for the job of executive director. The meeting takes place at 2 p.m., at the Commission’s offices, 160 Main St., Haverhill.
Haverhill City Council is expected to take up Mayor James J. Fiorentini’s $500,000 borrowing request to pay for repairs to the Water Street fire station. Last week, Fiorentini reiterated he planned to take the amount from the city surplus and not borrow. Councilors meet at 7 p.m., in the Theodore A. Pelosi Jr. City Council Chambers on the second floor of City Hall.

Haverhill Commission on Disability Issues discusses, among other items, police training for working with people with disabilities, at 1:30 p.m., Citizens Center, room 3, 10 Welcome St.

Haverhill Conservation Commission hears a request from Princeton Properties to determine applicability of drainage improvements at buildings and parking areas along Forest Acres Drive. Members will also hear any comments from the Planning Department regarding a frontage waiver for Zachary Heights, 316 Gile St. The Commission meets at 7:15 p.m., in room 301 of Haverhill City Hall.
