Attorney Aubrie L. Gallagher of Amesbury recently joined Downey Law Group and DLG Closing.

Gallagher, an experienced estate planning, probate and trust administration lawyer who practiced solo for more than 10 years, joins the growing law practice based in Topsfield and Haverhill. She comes from three generations of estate planning and probate attorneys, following in the footsteps of her mother, Attorney Janice Weyland Sinclair, and grandfather, attorney Wendell P. Weyland, who was a certified public accountant and estate attorney in the Topsfield and Boxford areas.

“My favorite part of what I do is working with families to help give them peace of mind so that they are prepared should something happen to one of them. I spend a lot of time making sure my clients fully understand what the documents in an estate plan will do for them, and that all possible contingencies from their particular situation are addressed. My being the third generation of estate attorneys in my family, I have clients who are the grandchildren of former clients of my grandfather,” she said.

An Amesbury native, Gallagher graduated from Massachusetts School of Law in 2011. She joins fellow estate and elder law attorneys James P. Cleary III and Joseph A. Cleary who merged their practice with Downey in January.

Downey Law Group now has seven lawyers, including Brian P. Downey, Caitlin M. Masys, Thomas J. Sullivan and John J. O’Keefe.  Downey said the addition of Gallagher “will allow us to better serve our valued clients. We continue to do all aspects of real estate conveyancing, land use and corporate law as well.”
