Help neighbors in need go back to school in style by donating a backpack for the Merrimack Valley Hope Mission’s latest goodwill effort.

Lafayette Square thrift shop Ruth’s House will receive the school staples after the collection drive, which takes place at G.A.R. Park near 10 Welcome St. on Friday, Aug. 9 from 12:30-2:30 p.m.

The Merrimack Valley Hope Mission group asks that donors provide “completed” backpacks—one backpack filled with school supplies for children in grades kindergarten through grade 12. Loose school supplies without a backpack are also accepted.

Organizer Joe D’Amore asks that backpacks be labeled as to if they are suitable for a boy or girl. More information on the donation drive is available at MerrimackValleyHopeMission.org.
