Volunteers are needed for a few hours each month to distribute food pantry staples as a part of Elder Services and the Greater Boston Food Bank’s program aimed at serving low-income seniors across the Merrimack Valley.

The program distributes 3,000 bags of perishable and non-perishable food items to low-income elders each month, basing operations out of Pentucket Lake Elementary School on Concord Street.

The volunteer-driven program seeks locals to not only assemble bags once a month on Tuesday mornings, but to also deliver items to senior centers and other centralized drop-off points in area towns.

To volunteer, call 978-946-1272.
