Detours are in place after a vehicle carrying a dumpster tipped over on the Rocks Village bridge, damaging structural elements to the passage over the Merrimack River on the Haverhill/West Newbury line.
According to Department of Transportation Communications Director Jacquelyn Goddard, the bridge has been fully closed to traffic until further notice, with detours in place.
A structural inspection is set to take place, Haverhill Police said.
