Frank Lovejoy and his real-life wife, Joan Banks, star in the 1958 “Suspense” thriller, “Win, Place or Die,” Monday night.
Lovejoy plays Joe, who embezzles money from his job to cover gambling debts. The episode is heard at 10 p.m., Monday, and repeated at 1 a.m., over 97.9 WHAV FM.
He began his career in the 1930s as a radio actor. By 1950, he starred as a newspaper reporter in the NBC radio series, “Night Beat.” In the movies, he is best known for his 1953 performance in “The Hitch-Hiker, “directed by Ida Lupino.
