Haverhill parents, it’s time to plan ahead. The school system has released the 2019-2020 calendar and students in grades one through 12 are set to report for the first day of school on Tuesday, Aug. 27.
The first week back will be a short one for students, who take a Labor Day recess from the early afternoon of Friday, Aug. 30 through Monday, Sept. 2.
Pre-K and kindergarten students report on Tuesday, Sept. 3.
Professional development days are planned for Sept. 18, Oct. 11, Dec. 2, Jan. 17, March 13, April 1 and May 13, with early dismissal for students on those days. There is no school on Election Day Nov. 5.
Winter recess is Dec. 23-31, February break is Feb. 18-21 and April vacation is April 20-24.
The scheduled 180th day of school is Friday, June 12, with a five-day weather allowance putting the final day for students as June 19.
