Today’s Obituaries—April 16: Abbott, Brooks

Dennis J. Abbott, 57, of Sandown, N.H., and formerly of Haverhill, died Saturday, April 13, at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Boston. For more than 25 years he was employed as a security guard and bus driver at Whittier Regional Vocational Technical High School, from where he retired in 2017. Calling hours are Wednesday, April 17, from 4-7 p.m., at H.L. Farmer and Sons Funeral Home, 106 Summer St., Haverhill. His funeral service is Thursday morning, April 18, at 10, at the funeral home. Burial will be in Union Cemetery, Georgetown.

Kelvin O. “Kelly” Brooks, 89, of Bradford, died Friday, April 12, at his home, surrounded by his family, after a period of declining health. He served in the United States Navy from 1947-1951 aboard the USS Worcester. Later Kelly retired from Raytheon Corp. after more than 35 years as an electronics engineer. He was a longtime member of the Kenoza Camera Club and won many awards over the years for his photography. Funeral services are private and held at the family’s convenience. Arrangements are by H.L. Farmer and Sons Funeral Homes, Haverhill and Bradford.
