The team of Rochelle Brothers, of Bradford, and her guide dog Yeats, were among the graduates of Guiding Eyes for the Blind last weekend in Yorktown Heights, N.Y.
Brothers is an undergraduate who will be receiving her bachelor’s degree this year in English—Creative Writing, with a minor in Theater and Psychology from Merrimack College. She plays cello, loves to read and write fiction and volunteers at a farm as an assistant horse trainer. She says she looks forward to continuing her education with Yeats by her side when she studies for her master’s. She previously graduated from Northern Essex Community College.
Yeats is a male black Labrador and is Brothers’ third Guiding Eyes dog.
Once home, each team enter an important stage in their work together, as they deepen their relationships, establish daily routines and learn new routes and destinations, according to the nonprofit school.
