After two-and-a-half years at City Hall, Haverhill’s Assistant Economic Development Director Nate Robertson is leaving his post for a new gig—a stone’s throw away at the Main Street Merrimack Valley Planning Commission.
To mark his last day Thursday, Mayor James J. Fiorentini presented Robertson with a citation recognizing his service to the city.
Robertson, who worked alongside William Pillsbury, was a champion for city economic expansion, launching the Haverhill Business Portal in 2017. Teaming with Andy Vargas, then a city councilor, Robertson introduced the web resource for existing and prospective businesses, startups and others interested in doing business in Haverhill.
“Haverhill certainly has a special place in my heart. Living and working with the community here has been such a wonderful experience: People have been overwhelmingly collaborative, innovative, and most of all, resilient,” Robertson tells WHAV. “These ingredients will serve Haverhill well going forward along with its growing business base and flourishing downtown. I’m thrilled to continue working for Haverhill with a wider regional lens.”
At the Merrimack Valley Planning Commission, Robertson will serve as the community and economic development planner. He begins his new position March 11.
