Merrimack Valley-area high school juniors and seniors are getting a crash course in the real world thanks to state Sen. Diana DiZoglio, whose fifth annual Young Women Career Day takes place Friday, March 1 at North Andover High School.

Held from 8-11 a.m. in the school cafeteria, the presentation features 20 local female businesswomen from government, legal, medical and other professions, DiZoglio’s office said. Katie Cook from Methuen’s Comfort Home Care and freshman state Rep. Christina Minicucci are among this year’s panelists.

“The Merrimack Valley is home to so many women who have found success working in the private and public sectors. It is imperative that we share our stories, the steps we took to achieve our goals and work to help empower and lift up young women in our region,” DiZoglio said.

While Friday’s event is only open to North Andover High students, DiZoglio hosts open office hours across the region on the last Friday of each month. A representative from her office stops at Haverhill’s Citizens Center, 10 Welcome St., from 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m., and visits Methuen’s Nevins Library, 305 Broadway, from 2:30-3:30 p.m.
