Give a ‘Housewarming Gift’ to Help WHAV Meet its End-of-Year Goal

Seventy-five years ago this month, WHAV celebrated its move into the radio station’s new downtown Haverhill building.

As WHAV returns to the art deco-styled building, it is worth noting WHAV founder John T. “Jack” Russ’s housewarming welcome. He said, “The pride we have is not merely in putting up and equipping a modern broadcasting station…it is pride in having used the opportunity to give this community a new medium for the transmission of information and entertainment.”

The celebration was capped with a live appearance by popular vocalist Vaughn Monroe, who was the first to record “Let It Snow! Let It Snow! Let It Snow!”

The radio station needs your “housewarming gift,” to meet its end-of-year goal. Giving is easy too. Just click here and choose from among the many options. Thank you for your support of nonprofit local news radio.

There’s more Take the Early Challenge and make your donation worth more! Early Contractors is matching donations dollar for dollar up to $1,500 when donations reach $2,500 by Dec. 15!
