Jarvis Releases Third Book Featuring ‘Mocha, the Superhero Service Dog;’ Signs Books Saturday

Book by Donald R. Jarvis.

In the third and final book of the series, “Mocha, the Superhero Service Dog,” Mocha teaches the reader the importance of keeping the Earth clean and how litter and trash affects the lives of animals and humans, like his human Donnie.

Mocha, in real life, is the service dog of Purple Heart recipient Donald R. Jarvis of Haverhill.

To combat pollution, Mocha enlists the help of his friend Peek, a bird, and recruits a new friend called Shelly, a turtle. Together they talk about air, water and land pollution.

“Mocha, the Superhero Service Dog Saves the World,” is available for purchase at a book signing event Saturday, Dec. 17, from 9-10:30 a.m., at River Street Café, 556 River St., Haverhill. The first two books also remain available online in advance at jarviscript.com. Attendees are also welcome to bring copies of the previous book to the book signing to be signed.

Veteran Jarvis served in Iraq and Afghanistan and is now well known throughout the Merrimack Valley for advocating and supporting veterans to get the help and benefits they earned and for which they are eligible. To help veterans in need offset the cost of the holiday season, Jarvis is also collecting gift cards for retail and grocery stores.

To encourage donations, Jarvis is raffling off an eight–10-pound piece of prime rib with the drawing during the book signing. Raffle tickets are $5 each and may be processed through Venmo or the gift cards’ value will be broken down into raffle tickets. Gift cards can be purchased in advance using @djarvis978 on Venmo or by mailing them to Gift Cards for Veterans, in care of Donald Jarvis, PO Box 8363, Bradford, MA 01835. Gift cards will also be collected at the book signing before the drawing.
