Three outgoing members said their farewells and received well-wishes, at the Haverhill School Committee Meeting last night. Toni Sapienza-Donais served for four years, while Scott W. Wood Jr. and Mayor James J. Fiorentini both served for 20. Sapienza-Donais, a teacher for 32 years and school administrator for eight, said her belief in education led her to run for the Committee. …

Cogswell Club Awards MakeIt Haverhill and Downtown Boxing Club $64,000

The Cogswell Club this week awarded $64,000 to the Haverhill Downtown Boxing Club and MakeIT Haverhill. Cogswell Club spokesperson Jeff Grassie told the Haverhill City Council Tuesday night top donors from the club chose last week from among four nonprofits. Somebody Cares New England Dedicates New Ramp at Food Pantry and Youth Center

Haverhill city officials, business leaders, neighbors and friends turned out Thursday morning for the dedication of a new handicapped access ramp at the Mount Washington neighborhood-based Somebody Cares New England. The $105,000 ramp replaces an earlier one that was damaged and restores public access to the nonprofit food pantry, youth center and provider of other services for low-income Haverhill residents. …

State Awards Haverhill More than $600K and West Newbury $400K for Conservation Land

The state Thursday officially awarded Haverhill more than $600,000 to reimburse the city for its Crystal Street and Parsonage Hill Conservation Projects and almost $400,000 to West Newbury for its Sawmill Brook Conservation Acquisition. Local Lawyer, U.S. Air Force Veteran Michael A. Dalrymple Dies at 79

Michael A. Dalrymple passed away peacefully on Dec. 13. Dalrymple was born Sept. 25, 1944 in Milford, Mass., to Gordan and Rita Dalrymple. He earned degrees from Stonehill College and Massachusetts School of Law.
