Dear subscriber,

Thank you for your longtime support of WHAV!

WHAV, Greater Haverhill’s only public radio station and nonprofit local news service, asks you to renew your commitment in 2022, and needs your support more than ever.

Please visit https://whav.net/become-a-whav-member/ for flexible and easy membership options.

Unlike others, WHAV’s timely, reliable and trustworthy journalism is available for everyone to receive, regardless of what they can afford to pay. WHAV strives to deliver the most local news in a variety of multimedia formats to meet the community’s need to know.

I’m sure you agree that all residents are better off when everyone receives critical and factual information.

Federal Communications Commission Chair Jessica Rosenworcel recently remarked on the role of broadcasters, such as 97.9 WHAV, to combat misinformation and provide local information as other forms of media go away.

“We all need local journalism to make decisions about our lives, communities and country. Yet over the last decade and a half, nearly 2,000 newspapers have shuttered and it’s getting harder and harder to find economic models that give us the news we need,” she said.

Thank you in advance for your renewed commitment.

Sincerely,

Tim Coco
President and General Manager
