This fall, 97.9 WHAV celebrates five years of FM broadcasting. During this time, WHAV’s original, community reporting has become the area’s greatest source of local news. Besides comprehensive radio reports, members have made it possible for WHAV News to be distributed online at WHAV.NET and via the daily Wavelengths e-newspaper, Merrimack Valley Newsmakers podcasts, social media and a growing number of cable television stations.
|
As Greater Haverhill’s only public radio station and nonprofit local news service, your monthly subscription during this fall membership drive is critical. Click here to review the new and easy giving options. For a limited time, you’ll make an even greater impact as donations will be matched by Early Contractors up to $500.

Before You Go…
If you believe, as WHAV does, that an informed public makes for better neighbors, employees, volunteers, customers, leaders, voters and citizens, we have a small favor to ask.
|
Unlike others, WHAV makes its journalism available to all. If you’re not already a donor or member, WHAV needs your ongoing support to do its job. The news media is hurting with thousands of outlets closing across the country. Local news has suffered the most. While we may not always agree on what event should or should not have been covered, WHAV’s philosophy is to err on the side of disclosure. If you share a belief in these principles, help WHAV to continue being Greater Haverhill’s most trusted, reliable and thought-provoking source of news—whether on-air, online, over cable television or in social media.
