This fall, 97.9 WHAV celebrates five years of FM broadcasting. During this time, WHAV’s original, community reporting has grown tremendously. This is especially noteworthy as other newsrooms are shrinking across the country with local news the biggest casualty. Lawrence General Hospital is receiving $7 million in COVID-19-related reimbursements from the Federal Emergency Management Agency.
