The Haverhill City Council approved a plan on Tuesday that will have the city joining forces with the Essex County Greenbelt Association to purchase 22.5 acres of land near East Meadow River to protect Haverhill’s drinking water supply. A 25-year-old Haverhill man was convicted today of stabbing one man to death and seriously injuring another outside a bar in Haverhill four years ago. Weekend commuter rail service returns on the first Saturday in July after being cut or sharply curtailed when the COVID-19 pandemic struck. A Haverhill man pleaded guilty Monday in federal court in Concord, N.H., to fentanyl drug dealing.
