Local News Reporting Brings ‘Intelligent Citizenship’

WHAV founder John T. “Jack” Russ knew the connection between those who seek out what’s happening in their communities and those who make good neighbors. On the dedication of WHAV’s new studio building 75 years ago this month, he spelled out his convictions.

“This is the service of supplying the members of the community with the information they need for intelligent citizenship. This is the service of defending and advancing the interests of the community,” Russ said.

As WHAV moves back to the art deco-styled building downtown, the radio station needs your, let’s call it a “housewarming gift,” to meet its end-of-year goal. Giving is easy too. Just click here and take your pick from among the options. Thank you for your support of nonprofit local news radio.

If you act now, Early Contractors will make your donation worth more by matching donations dollar for dollar up to $1,500 when donations reach $2,500 by Dec. 15!
