WHAV Fall Membership Drive Remembers Ken Spaulding

Ken Spaulding hosted WHAV’s afternoon show during much of the 1970s. He was described as a master of production and promotion, complete with celebrity endorsements. One of these came from Maine logger-turned-1960s country star, Dick Curless.

Spaulding’s wife Marie also worked in WHAV’s front office. Spaulding was the voice introducing Tom Bergeron mornings over WHAV. Playing the Laurel and Hardy theme song “Dance of The Cuckoos,” Spaulding announced, “Here’s another fine Tom Bergeron Show,” based on the duo’s well-known catchphrase.

Help celebrate WHAV’s diamond jubilee and return to its 1947 studio building in downtown Haverhill. Give a housewarming gift in support of Greater Haverhill’s only public radio station and nonprofit local news service. Just click here.
