WHAV Spring Membership Drive Remembers Romance in the Air

Edwin V. Johnson joined WHAV in 1951, but few may remember that his future wife Pat Sprague went to work in the station’s traffic department the following year. Ed and Pat hosted the “Friday Night Shoppers” program and went on to marry April 23, 1954 in a wedding that was recorded and played back over the WHAV airwaves.

After the wedding, the now husband and wife team hosted a program aptly called “The Newlyweds.”
