Only local radio can bring you this talk opportunity, but only  WHAV  does.

‘Someone You Know is on WHAV’
WHAV to Launch Multimedia Awareness Campaign

mcc“Community Spotlight” is one of WHAV’s most popular programs because it often features someone you know discussing a local non-profit or civic event. In fact, charitable groups have reported greater ticket sales and attendance when one of their own members voices an announcement.

Easy to Participate
WHAV invites community leaders to take advantage of this opportunity to schedule appointments to record an announcement on behalf of a local civic or cultural event. Simply use the form here, email [email protected] or call (978) 374-2111, Ext. 111, to submit your news.

This program is supported in part by a grant from the Haverhill Cultural Council, a local agency which is supported by the Massachusetts Cultural Council, a state agency.

Recognizing this trend, the Haverhill Cultural Council has awarded WHAV a grant to help raise awareness of the program, aimed at drawing both participants and listeners. The Haverhill Cultural Council is “part of the largest grassroots cultural funding network in the nation supporting thousands of community-based projects in the arts, humanities, and sciences annually.” “Community Spotlight” is also generously supported by Haverhill Bank.

Community Spotlight’s series of one-minute vignettes are placed in a rotation and heard a minimum of 19 times per day

The local media landscape has changed dramatically with people relying on the Internet to find out about local events. WHAV’s Internet radio streams uniquely cater to this group. A September, 2011, study by the Pew Research Group found “…when one looks at the 79% of Americans who are online, the internet is the first or second most relied-upon source for 15 of the 16 local topics examined. For adults under 40, the web is first for 11 of the top 16 topics — and a close second on four others.”
