Retired Brigadier General Andrea Gayle-Bennett, local elected officials, veterans and family were among those taking part last Saturday in the ceremonial placing of wreaths at the graves of 474 Haverhill veterans. For the eighth year, Haverhill’s Hope for Hilldale Cemetery participated in the national Wreaths Across America Day. Veterans are invited to enjoy a free pizza lunch Thursday and connect with fellow service members. To attend the event, sponsored by Daughters of the American Revolution, veterans must present a DD214 or VA card to participate.
