Unhealthy Bacteria Leads to Closing Haverhill’s Plug Pond at Least Through Monday

|
Haverhill’s Plug Pond is closed at least through Monday after, the city said Friday, heavy rain helped drive bacteria count to unhealthy levels. Mayor Melinda E. Barrett said health regulations require the closing. Meanwhile, the city is collecting test results of bacteria counts and will make a decision Tuesday on reopening the popular swimming spot.
