Haverhill’s annual fireworks show in celebration of Independence Day will be Tuesday, July 1, at Riverside Park, near Haverhill Stadium, off Lincoln Avenue.
Haverhill Recreation Director Benjamin Delaware said he expects the first colorful explosions will burst at 9:15 p.m., but suggests spectators arrive before 9 p.m. while it is still light.
The Recreation Department is planning a number of activities earlier that night. A DJ will play music beginning at 6 p.m. followed by the Mystic River Band, who will bring their blend of 60-90s rock music to the celebration.
Several food trucks will be on hand beginning at 5:30 p.m. There will also be face painting and a photo booth.
For those who wish to avoid crowds, City Council President Thomas J. Sullivan noted Tuesday fireworks will be visible from high points around the city including at Carter’s Ice Cream stand, 534 Salem St. in Bradford.
